Listen to Megan on Netflix's Godless

In the spring of 2017, Megan worked with composer Carlos Rafael Rivera, recording demos for Netflix's Godless. Despite moving on to professionally record the music with an orchestra, the Godless team decided to maintain Megan's original demo recording of the final cue of the series. Hear the composer discuss the process of working on the show and the decision to keep Megan's take in The Annotator podcast link below.

Upcoming Season

In the coming months, Megan will be taking time to travel and audition all over the country.  In November, Megan will be returning to perform in Miami with several Florida orchestras and will also begin new performing engagements with the rising Nu Deco Ensemble (Miami) and Opera San Luis Obispo (California) this season.  Please check back for concert announcements and an updated schedule.

In the mean time, enjoy this video she created celebrating the rewarding ritual of new strings in preparation for her upcoming engagements!

My cello might be even happier about new strings than I am. A/D are Larsen Soloist and G/C are Larsen Magnacore. Very happy with the results so far! http://larsenstrings.com/strings/cello/

ARM IN ARM WITH PLACIDO

Miami Symphony Orchestra's collaboration with Plácido Domingo on Jan. 28 turned out to be quite and exciting night!  Following the final encore, Plácido requested that I walk off stage with him, arm in arm (see pictures below!).  Afterwards, the Wynwood Trio was asked to perform at a private celebration for the Maestro.  Here are some photos from both our private performance and the arena concert!

2015 in Review

2015 in Review

2015 was certainly a year of both uncertainties and surprises alike.

In February, I won first prize of the Ann Arbor Society for Musical Arts' Young Artist Competition, granting me a sponsored solo recital in November. I performed my final Masters recital in Ann Arbor in March, completing my Master of Music under Anthony Elliott from the University of Michigan in Cello Performance. In May, I served on faculty both at PhoenixPhest! and the Ann Arbor Area Piano Teacher's Guild's Piano Chamber Music program.  In July, I attended the Miami Summer Music Festival where I was a winner of the concerto competition and performed the first movement of the Schumann Cello Concerto under the baton of Grzegorz Nowak.  I also collaborated with Andrés Cárdenes (former concertmaster of Pittsburgh Symphony), Gary Levinson (concertmaster of Dallas Symphony), Yuriy Bekker (concertmaster of Charleston Symphony), Michael Klotz (violist of Amernet Quartet), and Brian Thornton (cellist of Cleveland Orchestra) to perform the Mendelssohn Octet in the presence of violin-legend Ida Haendal.  After the success of the festival, I spontaneously moved to Miami Beach, FL in September to pursue my newly-formed Wynwood Trio with Siobhan Cronin and Caroline Buse.  In October, I began performing with the Miami Symphony Orchestra as co-principal cellist.  I collaborated with composer, Emmanuel Berrido, during the composition of his work Asterism for solo cello for its November premiere for my prize recital in Ann Arbor, MI.  I ended the year as I started it -- on a leg of Trans-Siberian Orchestra concerts across the country. I'm excited to see what comes next in the new year!

Happy New Year!

I joined a phenomenal faculty line-up including Peter Salaff, Melissa Kraut, the Cavani Quartet, as well as Miriam & Gabe Bolkosky at this year's May PhoenixPhest Chamber Program in Ann Arbor.
